Traditions weave through generations like a ribbon of hope, carried forward with care, gently reaching into the past to make sure pieces don’t fall off along the journey.
When time changes the seats at the table, we continue on with traditions tweaked to fit our lives, sure to infuse the old with the new while remembering the reasons for each.
It’s those tweaked traditions that bring us joy, and sometimes a little grief as we realize we are now stamping our own signature on a newly created plans that began with loss. It’s a bittersweet memory, one that is part of life and one we know too well.
Looking out over the future, with a glance over our shoulder to make sure those generations gone too soon are still within our soul, remember that we’re strong enough to prosper, brave enough to try, and smart enough to carry ourselves wherever we need to go.
